As part of the merger of more than 500 academic libraries, their catalogues, and courier services in Switzerland, the HSG library will be changing its system on the 07.12.2020. Due to reasons of data protection and the intricacies of merging multiple catalogues we will not be able to migrate previous user accounts. All library users have to re-register with Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP), the provider of the new, nationwide system. Registering is now possible. More worth to know about the mammoth project and the merge you find on our information page.
To follow the registration process is important whether you already have a SWITCH edu-ID or not. We have for both handy instructions ready.
Doing this before your first visit on the 07.12.2020 will help you to be optimally prepared and us to limit the support at the front desk. Thank you!
What happens to my data?
SLSP imports your personal data (name, address, phone numbers, date of birth) from your SWITCH edu-ID account int HSGswisscovery when registering.
You can see and edit your personal data at any time on your SWITCH edu-id account. Any changes will automatically be submitted to HSGswisscovery. Library specific data, such as items borrowed, orders, and fees will be managed directly in the new library system.
You can delete your library account at any time, given that you do not have any open transactions left (borrowed items or fees).
All transactional data will be rendered anonymous regularly and HSGswisscovery accounts will be deleted after 10 years of inactivity.
More information on data protection can be found on the SLSP website.
